#StayHome – Stay in shape?

During this challenging time of COVID-19 pandemic, everyone should stay at home to help stop the spread of coronavirus. Staying at home may be difficult, but it’s the best way to protect yourself and others by doing it.

My biggest frustration during this time wasn’t postponing a couple of trips that I had planned, but not able to do my workout in the gym. However, I have managed to find some home workout routines to keeping myself active in the mornings.

Taking care of your body and mind is important while staying at home. You may feel bored or lonely, but remember, this situation is temporary. Below are things you can do to help you keep on top of your mental well-being.

  • Stay connected with others by phone, messaging, video calls or social media – whether it’s people you usually see often, or connecting with old friends.
  • If you feel worried or helpless about the current situation, you can always talk and share your concerns with others you trust.
  • Look after your body – eat healthy, drink enough water and exercise regularly. For one form of exercise a day, you can go for a walk, run or bike ride alone or with members of your household.
  • Carry on doing things you enjoy and keep your mind active – focus on your hobby if it is something you can still do at home.
  • Take time to relax and look after your sleep as a good-quality sleep makes a big difference to how we feel.
